Does Macintosh Minix reside "Underneath" the Macintosh Multifinger?
This would SERIOUSLY degradate system performance, and I am looking for an op system to REPLACE my Mac op system (I rather dislike both the texture and the
efficiency.)
Does Macintosh Minix take advantage of 68000 base memory protection
schemes and are there several different versions available for the various
Mac Computers? I am running a Quadra 950. What version should I puschase?
I still don't understand why X won't compile, unless Minix and
Unix aren't completly object code compatible? I heard that X_Windows
WILL run for the PD op system "Linux" for the PC? What is the difference
in the architecture of the two operating systems...
Does Minix accomodate virtual memory? My Quadra has no trouble
with virtual memory (except it is SLOW.) But my plus with an 030 upgrade
doesn't accomodate this without buying a product called "Virtual?" I don't
see why Apple won't supply this for free, considering they are the twits
who discontinued the plus line originally. And it took a THIRD party
to supply the upgrade kit. The LEAST Apple could do is supply a virtual
memory driver capable of supporting several different PMMU board
architectures for the Plus. In Sys. 7? Its just Disabled... I was hoping
that Macminix might have been a cure to both my operating system's
