- I just got the 0.98.1 SLS package, and tried to install it on
- a friend's machine. I keep getting this error message when
- it goes to umount the floppy drive saying that it's busy or
- something. This happens after it installs the contents of a2.
- It then tells me to insert a3, but it won't recognize it.
- Setup:
- 386-33, 5 Meg RAM, AMI BIOS, 120 Meg hard drive (60 Meg Linux)
- I've tried installing with and without the extended file system,
- with and without a swap partition, and even with and without
- the swap partion turned on.
- Once, with a 5 meg swap NOT turned on, it got clear through
- the entire installation without error, but when I tried to boot
- with the new boot disk, I got an "out of memory" error.
- So, I tried it with the swap partition turned on. No luck.
- I tried several different combinations. Then when I tried the
- same setup again it didn't work.
-
- Earlier this evening I successfully installed the base system
- on a 386sx with only 2 megs of memory. The only difference
- I think was that then I was using a .96 version of the a2 disk.
- When I realized that, I made a .98 version, but I no longer have
- the .96 version to go back to.
-
- Anybody have any ideas?
