- I used crontab -r! I discovered that crond stops working while testing
- uucp. I repeatedly reset the time in the crontab by editing a copy, and
- then crontab -r newtab. After that, no crontabs were executed, including
- the root crontab which continously echos "Hello" to /tmp/cron_running.

- Try updating a non-root crontab and post your results.
