  12. Hi guys.
  13. Being new to Linux - I am having a couple of problems.
  14. I have just recompiled tcpip into the kernel (I am using the SLS distribution)
  15. and now when I reboot I get the following errors for the 3 config commands
  16. in rc.net.
  17.      socket: protocol not supported
  18.  
  19. The first two use loopback and the third uses eth0.
  20. I don't understand this because the kernel compiled ok.
  21. I have a WD8003 card in the PC and it is connected to the network.
  22. I also have its IP address, router address etc. - these are all fine.
  23. Can anyone help me?
