  12. I managed to get emacs working quite nicely, along with kermit5a.  Well, I
  13. decided to copy the emacs-defaults.el and default.el files from the lisp
  14. libraries on our Sun network at school so that emacs at home would behave
  15. like emacs at school.  Mission accomplished...all is well, EXCEPT..

  17. As you may know Sun keyboards are kind of odd, so the school management has
  18. setup emacs so that the DELETE key functions as a backspace and the BACKSPACE
  19. key sends a ctrl-h.  On a PC, this is rather annoying.  So far, I have been
  20. unable to find out where this key binding is set.  The REALLY strange thing
  21. is that these key bindings are only in effect while running emacs from 
  22. within X!  Running emacs from a standard console has backspace functioning
  23. as normal.  The REALLY REALLY strange thing is that kermit5a somehow has
  24. picked up on the settings, and now when I kermit via modem to the school's
  25. VAX, pressing backspace sends a ctrl-h rather than a backspace, and delete
  26. sends a backspace!  AHHH!!  Can anyone give me any clues as to how to correct
  27. this?
