- I got to thinking about hard disk controllers and how my current
- controller isn't compatible with other stuff I have wanted to play with
- here. Well, this seems rather limiting and I don't care much for limits so
- I ordered an UltraStor 14F SCSI controller this afternoon. I should have
- the new SCSI controller this Friday (11/13/92) and be able to get it
- installed, after backing up my system, this weekend.
-
- As soon as the new controller arrives and is installed and working
- under MS-DOS, I will then be ready to venture forth into Linux World...
- Since I will have to do a full restore after reformatting my hard drives
- for the new controller anyway, I am also going to see if I can make a bit
- more space available for Linux and any other OS that I might want to
- experiment with.
-
- I also have the complete MCC and HLU distributions of Linux online at
- my BBS (see number below) available for download (9600 Bps or faster only)
- or Fido-Net File Request (session password required, 2.88Mb per request, 15
- files maximum) from Fido-Net 1:105/55, FamilyNet/CFN 8:3207/7, SuperNet
- 43:1227/7, or MusicNet 88:8005/1. Yes, these all point to the system in
- the signature below which is my BBS.
-
- I hope to have the complete current SLS distribution online within the
- next week or so. BBS callers should leave me private E-Mail letting me
- know you are interested specifically in the Linux files here and I'll
- arrange appropriate download and time limits if you are calling at 9600 Bps
- or faster.
