  11. I have a new Logitech Mouseman, and I'm trying to get it to work
  12. with X (Trying to get X to work w/ my Genoa 7800 card, but that's
  13. another story!).

  15. When I boot, it says a busmouse is detected.  /dev/mouse has major 10,
  16. minor 0.

  18. So I try the test from /usr/X386/lib/X11/tst/mouse with the following 
  19. results:

  21. $ mouse Logitech /dev/mouse

  34. Of course at this point, the system is locked and the reset button must
  35. be pushed to get it to reboot.

  37. Now the way I look at it, /dev/mouse should be readable as any normal
  38. file, so that 
  39. cat </dev/mouse >droppings & 
  40. tail -f droppings
  41.  
  42. should give some response when the mouse is moved.  Perhaps unintellible
  43. response, but something!  It doesn't, needless to say.  What am I missing?

  45. Any ideas about how to test my busmouse (which works fine under DOS, may it
  46. rest in pieces) ?
