-
- i have installed lx98p4 right now, and got it to run without problems after
- recompiling (cheers !)
- but, when I type "man" or "file" or any / some other commands in /bin or
- /usr/bin, I get something like "obsolete version, recompile the binaries".
- First thing, the sources to the bin-files aren't distributed with lx98p4,
- that's just the kernel, or am I mistaken ? Where can I get binaries for lx98p4?
- I've installed the SLS package and dunno where to get a specific part. Also,
- i got ps-0.98.tar.Z from tsx-11.mit.edu, since "ps" produce a funny result.
- After "make install",shutdown, ps -U i still had the same funny result...
-
- And: i couldn't get the wd8003 working with lx98p4...
-
- I _DID_ alter Space.c to support my hardware settings, i.e.
- I/O-port 0x280, IRQ #3, mem-base 0xD000,
-
- _AND_ i tried both, config -r 140.78.4.31 -n 140.78.0.0 -d eth0 140.78.4.41
- and config -r 140.78.4.31 -r 140.78.4.0 -d eth0 140.78.4.41
- (I think the last line is correct since this PC sits on a subnet within a
- local net)
-
- Also, at reboot i really _DO_ get "Initialization ..... Family AF_INET",
- so I have recompiled the kernel correctly. I hope so ...
- Even the WD-card itself comes up, and says something like
- "WD8013 32 page memory, etheradress 00:00:c5:?:?:?"
-
- Well, the problem when telnetting is that the WD says to the console:
- Wd8003 transmission timeout...
-
- Here I notice something strange ... at bootup, the wd identifies itself as
- WD8013, and later, when telneting, it says "WD8003" ?
- Maybe this is a clue to someone of you ?
-
- Thank you, Herp.
-
- PLEASE: if anyone of you got wd8003 / tcpip working, could you mail me your
- a) net/tcp/Space.c
- b) /usr/etc/inet/hosts
- c) /usr/etc/inet/rc.local
-
- I really need to check where I have configuration differences.
-
- Last I have to note that the wd-card _IS_ actually working with the above
- mentioned hardware settings & gateway/net-definitions (submask: 255.255.255.0)
- when I use CU/TCP for the MsDos.
