  14. I have followed the thread concerning Linux and the Trident 8900C
  15. videodriver with great interest. I have a tvga8900 myself, but I have
  16. so far not succeeded in making it cooperate with X11. I read somewhere
  17. that a TVGA bios of 4.0 or newer was needed, but I have so far not
  18. seen any confirmation on this fact.

  20. My bios is reported to be C3.0, and hence apparently not the one that
  21. works. Could ANYONE please tell me if this is a fact, or just rumors?

  23. There also appears to be some trident-files at tsx-11.mit.edu in 
  24. /pub/linux/packages/X11/devel/. I have not looked at these files yet,
  25. but perhaps there is a solution mentioned there...

  27. If it now appeared that I (and others, too, I suppose) would have to
  28. upgrade to v4.0 to make X work, would anyone please tell me if this is
  29. possible/feasible? What would it cost? Or should we go out and buy a
  30. Tseng ET4000???
