  11. A bit of help with installing perl please.

  13. I have ftp'd the following files from ftp.mcc.ac.uk :

  22. I have installed perl.taz onto my linux 0.96c with mcc patches system and 
  23. get the following message when trying to use perl :

  25. perl: can't load library '/lib/libm.so.4'
  26.     No such library.

  28. I have checked the perl.taz file & my directory structure and can find no such 
  29. file.

  31. I have also checked the perl-lib.tar.Z & perl-lib.tar.Z and these seem to 
  32. contain nothing radically different. Nor could I spot anything else in the mcc
  33. directory structure that seems relevant.

  36. Thus 1 ) Whats gone wrong ? The FAQ states that there are certain 
  37.      incompatibilities between SLS & MCC releases. Have I found
  38.      an instance of this ?
  39.  
  40.      2 ) How can I fix this problem - is it as simple as retrieving this 
  41.      library from somewhere, or is it best to upgrade to 0.98 ?
