- Hello Netlanders,
- I just installed Linux 0.98.3 on a system and I was very impressed
- with its features and completeness. I used the SLS distribution. I love
- LINUX, but I have one small problem. I really want to run LINUX on my
- poor old PS/2 80-111. If I wasn't stuck with the damn thing I'd go out
- and get a real LINUX machine, but...
-
- Needless to say the SLS bootdisk gagged on my PS/2, so I got
- the kernel sources for 0.98.3. I'd love to spend a little time and make
- the modifications needed for LINUX to work on PS/2's. I'll probably
- regret this, but how different can a PS/2 be? With enough #ifdef PS2
- statments in the kernel code it should be possible.
-
- Have any of you been able to boot LINUX on PS/2's?
- Has anyone started trying to make a PS/2 tolerant LINUX?
-
- I would love to hear from you via email. Thanks for your time and
- effort... and praise the Lord if you can make LINUX work on PS/2's.
