  14. I just installed the brand new SLS release last night.
  15. The problem with the shell-init takes place in the b-disks of the distribution
  16. for some unknown reason.  I noticed the problem after I installed all the
  17. b-disks so I think it might be in the zbfix.  I just located the shell script
  18. zafix in /install/scripts and reran it and everything was fine.

  20. A couple of other problems I had were: 
  21.         The all the man pages are not world readable
  22.             The directories I remember that had problems
  23.             were cat1, cat8, and man1(?).  I believe there
  24.             was at least one more directory that needed fixing.
  25.         The other major problem I had was that the X11 font files in
  26.             /usr/lib/X11/font/75dpi and /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc
  27.             need to be compressed before I could get X to work.

  29. All in all the problems were minor and just took a little head scratching to 
  30. figure out.

  32. The SLS release of Linux is just the thing to expose it to the masses.
  33. I knew about Linux long before I installed it.  The only problem was that I have no
  34. system administrator experience and so installing a complete unix system from scratch
  35. was intimidating to say the least.  When I found out about SLS I went out and 
  36. grabbed it off the net and in about 3 hours have unix and X-windows running
  37. on my PC.  Please keep up the excellant work.
