  16. I managed to install linux (SLS 0.98) with X11, TeX and xfig. 
  17. Its ok to read dvi-files with xdvi, but I realy would like
  18. to get my postscript files out on my printer:

  22. So I'm looking for someone who has been able to compile

  24.      ghostview
  25.      ghostscript
  26.      transfig
  27.  
  28. PLEASE mail me your makefile or any other information on how
  29. to set up my printer.

  35. BTW: I posted a similar article a few weeks ago and 
  36. received a number of replies from people telling me 
  37. that they had NO problems compiling ghostscript and 
  38. ghostview.

  41. BTW2: Posting my first article and mentioning that 
  42. I had the SLS release running resulted in a vast 
  43. number of mails, asking me how I got X11, SLS and 
  44. the rest running. I replied to all these mails - 
  45. most of the problems are explained in the FAQ or 
  46. were already answered in some other postings. So 
  47. please read the news before asking questions. "I 
  48. know its somewhere in the FAQ, but...." is no longer 
  49. an excuse - READ the FAQ and the news - that's what 
  50. they're there for. Scanning approx.14000 articles 
  51. is a lot, but its not getting less if people keep 
  52. on posting old questions - AND many of the linuxers 
  53. will stop reading all articles if only old stuff 
  54. crops up. Splitting the group (into beginners and 
  55. advanced users) makes little sense, but a little 
  56. more patience and discipline would help. (Maybe 
  57. we could have comp.os.linux.X11 ..TeX ..Emacs 
  58. ..Ghost ..Printing ..GCC. and keep the installation 
  59. news in comp.os.linux.)

  62. ghost* and my HP DJ500C printer.
