- Topic: Ensuring Ada's Success in the 1990's
-
- Speaker: Ralph Crafts, President
- Ada Software Alliance
-
- Ralph Crafts is an internationally known and respected authority
- on Ada-related competitive issues. He brings a unique
- perspective to the competitive Ada Marketplace. He has been
- active in the Ada community for more than 11 years, and "wears a
- number of hats" in the Ada marketplace.
-
- Ralph is the President of the Ada Software Alliance (ASA), a non-
- profit organization formed in 1989 to promote the use of Ada in
- both the government and commercial markets. He works with
- members of congress and their staffs to ensure continued support
- and funding for government software initiatives. In addition to
- his ASA role, he also heads up his own company, Software
- Strategies and Tactics, Inc. (SS&T), which he founded in 1986.
- SS&T provides Ada-related consulting services to the
- international software community. He is the editor and publisher
- of Ada Strategies, an international monthly newsletter that
- focuses on Ada management issues, trends, case histories, and
- usage in both government and commercial applications.
-
- His talk at the November DC SIGAda meeting outlines the actions
- needed to ensure the Ada language flourishes. He will address
- the following questions:
-
- Should the emphasis be on commercial or government markets?
-
- Would acquisitions or mergers benefit the Ada Industry?
-
- Should the Ada language be renamed?
-
- This talk promises to be interesting and informative, and it is
- sure to generate lively interaction with the audience.
