  12. When there are several people you need to pick up at once, we have
  13. had good results from the Radio Shack PZM microphone.  This is a
  14. piezoelectric microphone (which requires an AA battery) mounted on
  15. a metal plate.  It costs about $50.

  17. We did an experiment with three different groups of students at
  18. three different workstations, and it picked up the conversations very
  19. well.  The only problem we had is that the microphone attenuation
  20. switch on one of our camcorders was set wrong for about 20 minutes.
