  16. Are you sure that sendmail is the cause of your problem?
  17. What *specifically* is the problem?
  18.     Do you mean RFC822 From: headers, or do you mean
  19.         rmail "From " lines?
  20.     Are the lines truncated at some point, or are they
  21.         missing entirely (``chops off'' is vague and
  22.         ambiguous)?
  23.     Can you supply an example?
  24.     Can you supply more specific details of your
  25.         installation (configuration options used to
  26.         compile sendmail, etc.)?
  27.     Does the problem occur with all messages, or only those
  28.         transferred via uucp/uux/rmail?

  30. *If* you're having "From " lines or From: headers *truncated* on
  31. mail *received via uucp/uux/rmail*, *and if* you have not
  32. configured your UUCP system to use rmail as a link to the
  33. sendmail executable (i.e.  you are using some other "rmail"
  34. program), then your problem is most likely caused by rmail, not
  35. sendmail. In that case, linking the sendmail executable to a
  36. file named "rmail", and instructing UUCP to use that program as
  37. rmail (e.g. via a COMMANDS entry specifying the full path name
  38. in HDB UUCP's Permissions file) should solve the problem.
