- I recently posted a message to the mh and few X releated groups about
- MIME and xmh -- but I did not get much response -- I did not know this
- group existed then -- May be comp.mail.multi-media will prove
- more fruitful.
-
- My question is: Is anyone working on a fully MIME compatible version
- of xmh. The idea being that xmh would interpret a MIME message and
- display the body parts as icons which when hit with the mouse button
- would play the audio or display a image. Certain body parts (eg
- richtext or gifs?) could be actually show in xmh itself by usings
- a different widget or something. A grander solution might be to
- invent a multi-media widget.
-
- I have been told that the next version of mh (not xmh) will be MIME
- compatable (but I don't know what that means - maybe just the fix
- to call metamail ?). I also know that quite abit of work is being
- done at MIT to incorperate multi-media into X.
-
- Can anybody fill me in on plans/work in progress. If nothing is
- happening, I'm think of doing it myself.
-
- Please mail me or this newsgroup if of general interest since I shall be
- reading it from on.

- BTW If this is a FAQ I beg your forgiveness.
