  29.    I am in the process of debugging a piece of software
  30.    which translates a flattened circuit simulator input
  31.    netlist into a 'hierarchical' netlist (ie, one which
  32.    contains subcircuit definitions and instances).

  36.    Is there a tool around which will compare two circuit
  37.    simulation input files and determine if they are the
  38.    same *topologically*?

  40.    My current technique involves running lengthy hspice
  41.    simulations and comparing the outputs... a long and
  42.    tedious process.

  51. Most Physical verification packages contain "LVS" (layout vs. schematic)
  52. software.  This software provides netlist extraction from a layout, and,
  53. important for your application, netlist comparison.  I worked on the 
  54. CheckMate product at Mentor Graphics, and the NetCheck executable should
  55. do what you need.
