- Well, the piece was certainly meant to be funny. However, the author of
- the work (Jim Minton) actually wrote this to establish a rule to be followed
- when writing C if-statements. Minton eventually wants to establish a set of
- guidelines to be used locally for writing C code so that there is consistency
- in the appearance of the code, and will likely be doing more writing in the
- near future.

- Although there may be much disagreement about how to write if-statements,
- or whether you should even have a guideline for such things, I thought it
- likely there would be agreement that the post was funny, ergo I posted it.
