  14. Sorry about the 2 previous tests, I've been trying to post this 
  15. for 2 days now and my news reader has been giving me problems.
  16. Anyway with that out of the way, on to the original post:

  20.    My name is Forrest Houston and I some questions that I would
  21. liked answered from anyone involved with scientific visualization.
  22. Right now I am a senior in CS and I'm trying to decide what
  23. to do.  I am really interested in pursuing a carreer in 
  24. scientific visualization, but I am unsure of what the best next
  25. step would be.  My options seem to be; continue on in a Masters
  26. program for CS, switch to the design department of our school
  27. and pursue a Masters of Graphic Design (dealing mainly with end
  28. use of computer graphics instead of developing them), or the 
  29. technical college in the area is thinking about starting a 2
  30. year certification course in scientific visualization.  What I
  31. would like to know from people already in the field:

  33. -  What sort of organizations are involved with sv, is it mainly
  34.     research firms, colleges, or companies?
  35.  
  36. -  In regards to these organizations, what sort of experience or 
  37.     background are they looking for to fill positions in sv?
  38.  
  39. -  Are there concentrations in sv, or is it the sort of field 
  40.     where you have to know a little of everything (biology,
  41.     mechanics, physics, botany, etc..)?
  42.  
  43. -  Are there any professional societies or journals related to
  44.     sv and if so how do I get in contact with them?
  45.
