- We have been offered a computer animation solution consisting of the
- SoftVTR software running on one of our Sun SPARCstation machines, in
- conjunction with the new Sony EVO-9650 VTR. We use the RasterOps TC/S
- video card for loading still-video images from the computer.
-
- Can anyone comment on whether the SoftVTR software with the mentioned
- hardware will create a good working environment for producing
- single-frame animation. We think that the Hi8 video quality is good
- enough for us, we're more concerned with convenient ways of controlling
- the single-frame recording.
-
- Our scenario would typically be: We'll generate 500 raster images
- using our own software. We want to end up with a 20-second animation
- sequence (we're using PAL, 25 frames/sec) on Hi8 tape, by means of
- single-frame recording onto the VTR. This should finally be copied to
- a VHS tape with leading and trailing still-text images.
-
- With best regards,
