  13. I have TARGA-16 images being deposited on a VAX running VMS.  I'd like to 
  14. convert these TGA files to PICT and TIFF for use on a Macintosh, and GIF 
  15. for IBM PC's.  Does anyone know of a good format conversion package that 
  16. could run under VMS?  Languages supported here under VMS  include BASIC, 
  17. FORTRAN, Ada, and C.
  18.  
  19. At the moment, I'm dragging the TARGA files down from the VAX to a Mac 
  20. IIx, and using Adobe Photoshop to do scaling and conversions.  Results are 
  21. then uploaded to the VAX again, to populate our VMS-based file server.  
  22. I'd like to be able to do the whole job directly on VMS.

  24. I have a little experience with Alchemy from Handmade Software, running 
  25. under DOS on a PC.  This is a very good package, indeed.  If I could find 
  26. it's equivalent for VMS, I'd be a happy camper.

  28. I'm not a regular NetNewser, and don't know much about FTPing, 
  29. de-archiving, unzipping, and all that good stuff, so if anyone should 
  30. point me to available software I'd appreciate a few hints on the mechanics 
  31. of obtaining same.
