  11. The Washington D.C. Local SIGGRAPH Chapter is having their next meeting
  12. this Thursday, November 12, 7:30 PM  at the George Washington
  13. University Northern Virginia Campus.  The meeting will showcase new
  14. research and technology by the GW Computer Graphics Research Department
  15. headed by Prof. James Hahn.  Members and prespective members welcome.

  17. Research at the Norther Virginia Campus encompasses technologies for
  18. sound rendering, 3D computer animation, photo-realistic image
  19. generation and virtual reality.  Sound rendering was the topic of a
  20. paper at this year's SIGGRAPH'92.  The sound-rendered video "Graphic
  21. Violence" was shown at SIGGRAPH'92 and at our September event
  22. "Electronic Theater ... After Dark on the Mall."  GW Computer Graphics
  23. faculty and students will will present demonstrations of their
  24. research.  An overview of the Computer Graphics curriculum will also be
  25. a part of the evening.

  27. Directions:  The campus is located as 20101 Academic Way, Ashburn,
  28. Virginia.  Take Beltway I-495 to Route 7 west.  Follow Route 7 about 15
  29. miles west.  Continue about one mile past Route 28 (a large cloverleaf
  30. exchange) and turn right at the sign for George Washington University.
  31. The GW building is the large brick building in the middle of a field.
  32. (There is another brick building closer the the road but that is the
  33. E-Systems facility - you don't want that!)  Enter through the main
  34. lobby and there will be a sign to direct you to the appropriate room.
