- Hi! I'm running emacs 18.58 on a Sun IPC, running SunOS 4.1.1. Right
- now I'm working from home over the modem and away from my gigantic Sun
- screen, looking at a tiny mac screen. But of course the might emacs
- can help me adjust.
-
- The function display-time will hopefully take the place of my clock,
- little mailbox icon, and performance meters, but I can't seem to get
- much happiness out of it.
-
- It's showing the time, but not the performance info. According to the
- info:
- Some fields may be missing if your operating system cannot
- support them.
-
- But I can't believe that it doesn't work for such a common system as
- mine! Is this the case?
-
- Also I used the shell command biff n before I started emacs, to
- prevent new mail messages from being written all over my screen when
- they come in. Unfortunately this seems to also prevent emacs from
- finding out if I have new mail, since it's didn't register a
- test-message I sent to myself. Can anyone confirm this (or more
- hopefully not)?
-
- Finally, does anyone out there have a souped-up display-time that does
- even more?
-
- Thanks.
