- Heya...
-
- i've lately been plagued with the following situation: i'm trucking
- right along in an emacs-buffer (editing, shell, gnus, etc.), and
- suddenly, when i try to do C-p or C-n, i get a beep and the minibuffer
- reads something like "nesting exceeds max-lisp-eval-depth"...nothing i
- do can clear this up, i can't re-assign a larger value to the variable,
- all i can do at this point to get things working again is to kill the
- current emacs, and start a fresh one...
-
- Whatinhell's going on? i've tried turning on "debug-on-error", and
- can't get anything intelligible from the result (also can't stick the
- output into a register and then dump it into a file to be saved...none
- of those C- keys work either, same error).
-
- i have to admit, none of this ever happened before i added explicit
- loads of "x-sb-mouse", the expanded "dired", and "ange-ftp" into my
- .emacs...
-
- Puzzled (and slightly frustrated),
- doug
