-
- So far I've found out very little. I found out that Borland is
- in fact selling it under the Borland name, and that there is a
- *very* cheap upgrade to the Borland version for existing Brief
- owners. Something like $69. I also got one recommendation to
- try Crisp instead, with the claim that it does everything Brief
- does and much more. That's about it.
-
- I suppose I was vaguely hoping some Borland employee would read
- this group, and reassure me that the product would be continued
- (and enhanced maybe?) I got no such reassurance, and also have
- not noticed any advertisements since Borland bought it. It
- leaves me with the sinking feeling that Borland bought it to
- enhance their own compiler products, and doesn't intend to
- devote much time and money to Brief. I'm not sure exactly what
- enhancements I would want, but versions for Windows,
- Presentation Manager, or NT might be nice. At least it would
- give me the feeling that the product will be around a while.
