- I'm looking for a reference to a "Douglas-Peuker" filter. A
- software implementation would also be nice, but for now, I'd be happy
- with a reference to a paper I could read. If your fingers are itchy,
- I'd be happy with a soft-copy.

- From what I can tell (from the context in which its
- mentioned), it appears to be a filter for decimating datasets by
- estimating the local slope of vector (array) and only saving points
- when the slope changes significantly.
