  15.     I'm looking for a reference to a "Douglas-Peuker" filter. A
  16. software implementation would also be nice, but for now, I'd be happy
  17. with a reference to a paper I could read. If your fingers are itchy,
  18. I'd be happy with a soft-copy.

  20.     From what I can tell (from the context in which its
  21. mentioned), it appears to be a filter for decimating datasets by
  22. estimating the local slope of vector (array) and only saving points
  23. when the slope changes significantly.
