- I'm looking for something that I seem to remember having seen in the back pages
- of some magazine or other, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of such a
- beastie..
-
- We have a machine running pcAnywhere, to allow a user in Germany access to our
- NetWare 3.11 LAN here in Ireland. What sometimes happens is that the line will
- get dropped, due to a VERY noisy line etc., and the pcAnywhere host will not go
- back to answering the line, but sit there needing someone to tell it to start
- answering the phone again [it doesn't stick the modem into Autoanswer, but just
- looks for a 'RING' from the comm. port].
-
- What I'd like to be able to do is to reboot the pesky thing in such a
- situation. Ideally what I'm looking for is a box that plugs into the phone
- socket, and the wallsocket, and can be set to answer on the (say) 4th ring.
- Using a DTMF phone, you should be able to then reset the equipment attached to
- the plug on the `magic' box.
-
- Anyone know if there exists such a beastie suitable for our use, and where we'd
- go about finding it..
-
- Thanks,
-
