  12. I use 14.4 turbo modem ... have had no problems with it connecting or loosing
  13. data - when running with Communications (from Crosstalk) which came with it.
  14. When running in windows i often get junk characters ( i am using the terminal
  15. program that came with windows 3.1) - but I think that is a problem with my
  16. system speed and how the windows software works.  I connect through portal on
  17. a trailblaizer rack - it screeches twice ... beeps once ... then connects ( I
  18. think this is standard protocol search but I'm not sure).  Any way it always
  19. connects (it has never not connected) at what ever protocol i've tried, which
  20. are: v.32 , v.32bis , v.42 , v42.bis .  I also have never lost a connection
  21. through line noise - except if someone picks up the phone then hangs it UP -
  22. picking up the phone alone doesn't cause a disconnect.

  24. It has a 8031 cpu, didn't list the other chips ... and didn't see anything
  25. about changable ROMs in the manual ( I'm not hip enough to this kind of thing
  26. so I really didn't look into the hardware of it at all).
