  34. But I was NOT addressing that point.  I didn't contradict it at all
  35. with my article.

  37. I underlined the portion that I was responding to (which you've deleted).
  38. I responded to the assumption that the serial port hardware in an IBM
  39. compatible could not support 14,400 bps.

  41. I showed why that assumption about the hardware was wrong.  I did not
  42. argue that software SHOULD support 14,400 bps, just that it COULD
  43. support it if the programmers wanted to.

  45. For the record, there ARE some situations where you don't want to talk
  46. to the modem faster than the modem-to-modem transmission rate:  When your
  47. computer can't use flow control.
