- I have just received a new ZyXel 1496E modem and use CrossTalk for
- Windows under Windows 3.1 on a 486/33 EISA machine with a Diamond
- Speedstar Plus 1024x768x256 video card. On all connections, I notice
- that CrossTalk scrolls text extremely slowly, as if the connection
- were at about 1200 bps, instead of my usual 14.4K. When the screen
- is clear and the text comes from the top down, it works very fast
- and very nicely, but once it reaches the defined screen size in #
- of lines per screen, it then scrolls quite slowly. I am using COM2
- under Windows. The behavior is the same whether the port is gen'ned
- at 9.6K, 14.4K, 19.2K, 38.4K, or 56.7K.
-
- This behavior *does not* occur when I use ProComm Plus 2.01 or
- QModem 4.5 in the sme situations. Nor does this occur with my Gateway
- Telepath 14.4K modem on my other 486/33 ISA with ATI Ultra Graphics
- 1024x768x256 video card, even with CrossTalk.
-
- Any clues as to what is happening and how to fix it?
