  24.    Yes, I've seen similar behavior -- my U-1496E (running version rk412ce)
  25. sometimes doesn't hang up when DTR drops even though I've set &D3.  I was
  26. hoping it would be fixed in 5.02, but, judging by your message, I guess it
  27. isn't.  The most interesting aspect is that the modem can continue talking
  28. to an otherwise silent line (no carrier from the other end) indefinitely,
  29. even through the "if you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again"
  30. message, and through the loud beep, beep, beep, beep, please-hang-up noise,
  31. without ever deciding to hang up.  It can almost always be convinced to hang
  32. up by pushing the data/voice switch by hand, but that's no help if you're not
  33. sitting next to the modem.
