- Call waiting is a possibility, but I'll bet this is the problem: using
- a mac? If so, mac hardware handshaking cables tie DTR & RTS. When
- your computer says "whoa, don't send me anything for a moment" (like
- when you so something under the Finder), it lowers DTR. Most modems
- (the ZyXEL included) take a drop in DTR to mean disconnect.

- The way I fix this is to send &D0 as part of my dialing string
- (AT&D0DT<number>) which tells the modem to ignore DTR transitions.
