  12. There were some network problems here at Emory over the past weekend that
  13. caused the system running the gateway between the Informix mailing list and
  14. comp.databases.informix to be off the air for a while.
  15.  
  16. Unfortunately that "while" was long enough to cause sendmail to kick back
  17. several outgoing messages.  Judging from the bounces, messages with List-ID's
  18. <list.1576> and <news.2067> through <news.2072> failed to get out.  I am
  19. re-mailing these to the list.

  21. On the Usenet side of the fence, things were less affected, except that a few
  22. messages posted to the list experienced a 3-4 day delay going through the
  23. gateway instead of being sent through immediately.  And, of course, articles
  24. posted to c.d.i have also been delayed going out to the list.

  26. To my knowledge, the problems were all internal.  The news host continued to
  27. receive and spool all c.d.i articles.  If you posted something to the mailing
  28. list early in the problem period, your message may have bounced back to you.
  29. You should get an obvious bounce message if that occurred.

  31. It may take another day or so for things to smooth out.  If you've posted
  32. something recently and haven't seen it yet, wait a little longer than usual
  33. before you assume that it didn't make it, or that no one has replied to it.
