- While I agree that the tradeup process from 1.x versions of Revelation
- to 3.0 is complex, I think RTI has handled it pretty well. I would
- like to see some processes more automated (e.g. updating dictionary
- MSTR fields, changing column names in windows) and some code provided
- for evaluating changes needed in existing code and making some of the
- easier changes (changing column names in braces and xlates). However,
- many of these changes are necessary only to optimize the application,
- not to run it under 3.0. You can handle the new file/table names by
- setting up aliases and there is no requirement, for example to use
- SOURCE rather than a BP file. Sure, I would haved *loved* an easier
- tradeup, but I decided a long time ago I wouldn't give up the power of
- Revelation for easier use, and the tech support has been good.
