  21. In our experience on 45 80386 computers Paradox 4.0 is much slower than 3.5 
  22. with 2MB RAM. Borland techsupport now says 4 MB minimum, and I noticed the 
  23. new ads don't say 2 MB recommended. On most 4 MB computers 4.0 is somewhat 
  24. slower than 3.5. The codepool option can get some of the speed back. 
  25. On all our 8 MB machines 4.0 is faster than 3.5, though nowhere near 10 times 
  26. as fast for anything we do. All the above is true even after converting all 
  27. DBs to 4.0 format. Memo fields are nice and so are the secondary indexes,
  28. but unless you have lots of RAM, don't buy 4.0 for speed.
