- I am just starting a project which will include a database of
- information. I would like the information in the database to be available
- to anyone who wants it. (I.e. it will be on a computer that has both
- internet and modem access.)
-
- My proposal is to have the database and the database engine sit
- on a UNIX server. Then I would like to distribute public domain software
- that could run on a Mac, IBM PC, or a UNIX box. I would perfer a Public
- Domain database engine, but I have the budget to buy one. But the Public
- Domain client software is a must. My users will be college students and
- such and will not have money to pay for software.
-
- Any advice or recommendations would be helpful.
