  27. Actually, I think that introducing yourself before you enter the site is
  28. quite reasonable, considering the benefits you receive from Prof. Salmi's
  29. site. Consider - if you invited someone into your home, would you prefer
  30. that they introduce themselves first?

  34. Anonymous FTP access to any site is a priviledge, not a right, extended by
  35. the owners of said site. Thus, they have the right to set any rules they
  36. wish concerning access to the site. If you don't like their rules, you have
  37. the option to seek a different site, and not use their site.

  41. It helps protect the site. (How is left as an exercise to the reader). Thus,
  42. by "loosing privacy", you help ensure that the site will remain up.
