  12. We are looking for benchmark numbers on the Cray Y/MP-8 for scalar (i.e.,
  13. non-vectorizable) operations. Ideally, we would like to be able to relate
  14. the scalar performance of this machine with current state-of-the-art
  15. microprocessors for general purpose computation.
