- I don't want to in any way imply that I know what I am talking about or that
- I have a favorite. There are many issues in real-world performance (i.e.
- like how optimized for the platform are the applications you would use,
- what percentage of time is spent in the user interface versus in system
- services, etc.) that these benchmarks don't cover.

- That said, I watched the HP announcement, which happened later in the day
- after the DEC announcement, and HP claimed that their benchmarks were *all*
- faster than the DEC benchmarks (2-D, 3-D, shaded graphics; SPECfp, MFLOPS;
- integer performance; etc.), so if you mean "4 hours" when you say "a while,"
- then you are unquestionably right. If you mean anything else, then you are
- inviting a marketing war of words ;-).
