- I do! We are currently working with a connectionist model that can learn simple
- naming tasks based on visual and acoustic input. The model is designed such as
- to roughly account for several observations on child language acquisition, e.g.
- Ellen Markman's constraints children put on word meaning, or K. Nelson's
- hypotheses about the influence of language on the acquistion of concept
- taxonomies.

- There is a paper in this year's Cognitive Science conference proceedings:
-
- Dorffner G.: Taxonomies and Part-Whole Hierarchies in the
- Acquisition of Word Meaning - A Connectionist Model, in Proceedings
- of the Fourteenth Annual Conference of the Cognitive Science
- Society, Lawrence Erlbaum, Hillsdale, NJ, pp.803-808, 1992.
