- has been done by people like JB Pollack, G Elman, D. Chalmers,
- Tim van Gelder. Try T. van Gelder's paper, which is called something
- like: Compositionality: a connectionist variant on a classical theme.
- It is a 1990 paper and refers to other important articles.
