- FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT of the ISAI WORKING GROUP
- ============================================
-
- AI in FINANCE
- =============
-
- Today, we see a rapidly growing interest on the application of AI to
- all types of financial applications. A lot of banks, insurance
- companies, brokers, etc. all around the world have already begun not
- only to develop but to use AI systems in their daily business. This
- requires both software developers and academicians to learn about
- and to take into account the particular characteristics of
- applications in the field. This includes issues like
-
- - developing (generic) task level models of the different types of
- financial applications
- - development of application-specific shells / tools
- - "benchmarking" of AI-based solutions
- - comparing AI-based systems against conventional solutions
- - integration of AI-systems
- - etc. etc. etc.
-
- Any experience in one or several of the following areas would be of
- particular interest:
-
- - all types of banking applications, e.g.
- * stock / bond markets
- * private banking
- * capital investment
- * backoffice applications
-
- - AI in assurance companies, e.g.
-
- - financial engineering
-
- - mergers & acquisitions
-
- - consulting
-
- - leasing
-
- - prediction of economic growth
-
- - etc.
-
-
- Obviously, this list is not exhaustive at all. On the other hand,
- all different approaches and paradigms of modern AI shall be
- considered. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
- - all issues of knowedge representation and reasoning
- - model-based approaches
- - case based reasoning
- - neural networks
- - Distributed AI
- - diagnosis, configuration, planning, and so on
- - etc.
-
-
- It is not the right place here to develop a complete work program.
- Instead, this would be one of the prior aims of the working group.
- Thus, I invite all people being interested in /
- concerned with research, development, and use of AI in the different
- branches of finance to join this ISAI working group, and to take
- benefit from a worlwide discussion of the stimulating field of "AI
- in FINANCE".
-
-
- How to join the ISAI working group "AI in FINANCE"?
- ---------------------------------------------------
-
- The only thing you have to do is
-
- 1. to send an email to "kirns@uni-muenster.de". This email should
- include your full address, an indication of your fields of
- interest and of your particular experience, and a statement
- concerning your ISAI membership.
-
- 2. If you are not yet a member of ISAI, you must join the society
- as well. In that case, please contact Graham Forsyth
-
- FORSYTH@fencer.cis.dsto.gov.au
-
- for a membership application. He will be pleased to send you any
