-
- Neither the Democratic party platform, nor its candidates are consistant.
- (for that matter, neither is the Republican party.) Consider, for example,
- their support of _both_ a woman's access to abortions _and_ a national
- health care system; despite the fact that such a health case system
- would allow federal bans on abortion regardless of Roe v. Wade.
-
- There are two ways to explain a party-line vote: They, by coincidince,
- agree with the party on all issues or they aren't thinking through all
- the issues and are just voting the way some "authority" (the party)
- told them to. I personally find it hard to beleve that coincidince
- could explain so many votes.
-
- >I'm not convinced that the premise even holds up...although I suppose that
- >if you put the entire remainder of the state in one pot (that's Aspen with
- >Limon, Trinidad with Ft Collins) you can probably make it inconsistent.
-
- That isn't really necessary: The rest of the state (even excluding Aspen, etc..)
- voted (for example) for Campbell (a democratic vote) and against Amendment 6
- (a conservative vote), etc...
