- In the shared file system directory that I use I have a total of
- 1071 files in 64 directories. If I use CSL calls to look at the
- size of each file and sum over the whole directory subtree I get a
- total value of 4036 4K block.
-
- If I then do QUERY LIMITS to enquire about the same hierarchy I am
- given a figure of 4519 4K Block Committed.
-
- To save you doing the maths this is a difference of 483 4K block or
- about 1.7K characters per entry. To my way of thinking this seems
- to be quite a lot, any comments???
-
- Note: I did a quick test a another hierarchy (with a much 'richer'
- structure and the figures still came out at about 1.3K
- 'extra' characters per entry.
