- SI has indicated that it will support Windows NT on the Intel platform (I
- don't recall any statement that they would support it on DEC's Alpha to answer
- an earlier private question). The time schedule for this is dependent on when
- MicroSoft really starts delivering NT. Currently, although there are
- development versions of NT available, the delivery schedule seems to keep
- slipping (why am I not suprised :-).
-
- As far as I understand Windows for WorkGroups, there is no reason why the SAS
- for Windows will not run fine in that environment. So far SI has not been
- good at providing multiuser functionality for low end multiuser environments,
- e.g. SAS/SHARE is not supported under Unix so I am not sure that there will be
- good facilities for record locking, etc. However, using SAS/ACCESS one can
- access data via other DBMS's which might in turn support such facilities.
