- Your comment (re 4mb/hr) is well taken. I didn't really mean to *hiss and
- moan* about FTP transfer rates: there are much, much worse fates that can
- befall an honest man/woman in this line of business.

- After several inquiries, my best guess is that the target system lacked
- sophisticated comms systems. That is their problem (or will be after I
- send them a little more data).

- Actually, I feel privileged to be able to FTP/TELNET (potentially) to any of
- thousands of nodes worldwide. Makes sliced bread look trivial (seriously!).
- Even better after it gets faster, tho.
