- Thomas Skinner writes, about EMITS:
-
- >Reply: Two SI administered lists are available for reporting problems and
- >zaps. The first is a news facility to alert the users and SAS consultants of
- >problems. The second is for use by users and consultants to report possible
- >bugs to SI.

- Gary Pfeifer asks:
-
- >"The second" list he talks of is EMITS. It was my understanding when it
- >first became available that it is only for SAS Site Representatives. Is
- >that no longer true?
-
- I just registered for EMITS. I got a note back with the subject "EMITS
- Instructions," which includes the statement, "You must be a SAS Software
- Consultant or SAS Software Representative to register." As I understand
- it, a site's SAS Software Consultant is the person to whom SAS Institute
- sends the manuals for new releases. Actually, a site may have more than
- one SAS Software Consultant; it may have one for each SAS product. The
- SAS Software Consultant may call Tech. Support for help. Often, the SAS
- Software Consultant is the same person as the SAS Software Representative.
- A site's SAS Software Representative is the person to whom SAS Institute
- sends tapes.
-
- Just for the record, each site also has a SAS Training Coordinator (the
- person to whom SAS Institute sends information on training classes), and a
- Contract Representative (the person to whom SAS Institute sends an executed
- copy of the license agreement. But the SAS Training Coordinator and the
- Contract Rep. may not use EMITS.
-
- I hope this helps.
