- I agree with the idea that tv is bad for you, however, I must defend tv's
- value in that indeed it allows us to "switch off minds". At the end of
- a day I am usually tired of thinking, and thinking about important worlk
- (world) issues gets me really depressed, so I don't think a few hours of
- Simpsons or Northern Exposure is harming me.

- Also I constantly marvel at the technology of remote control. Whenever
- an ad comes on I can hit the mute button and avoid all that obnoxious
- cultural brain washing.
