- Is anyone studying Discrete Choice Modelling?
-
- The term goes under a number of names depending on which discipline or
- paradigm you're operating in. But what I'm looking for is different
- perspectives on the problem of the individual person choosing one from a set
- of alternatives. e.g. selecting one brand from all brands on the
- supermarket shelf, selecting one university course from those
- offered, selecting one item on the menu, deciding whether to take the bus or
- to drive.
-
- Clearly there is a strong overlap amongst (Lancaster) Economics,
- (Thurston) Psychology, and Mathematical Psychology.
-
- I'm looking for Theoretical contributions, Measurement techniques and,
- especially, Forecasting or Prediction techniques.
-
- I've become somewhat of an expert in Conjoint Analysis techniques, so I
- guess I'm more interested in alternative theoretical perspectives and
- prediction.
